PANNA COTTA

As I write this blog, I am here in Italy visiting my daughter. Since I am here and have some spare time, I thought of making an Italian dessert called Panna Cotta which is made from sweetened cooked cream thickened with gelatin and molded. You can flavor it with coffee, vanilla or lemon or you can leave it plain and top it with your favorite fruits. I once made this (here’s my recipe ) but it’s a plain Panna Cotta and I find it too plain. For this recipe, I added sour cream which makes it creamier and complements the fruits topping.

PANNA COTTA

Ingredients:

1 cup whole milk
2 1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
